Wickens Delivers a Comprehensive Racking Solution for Covers

When leading independent timber and builders’ merchant Covers was specifying racking for its new site in Horsham it needed a safe and sturdy solution capable of holding heavy packs of timber. The company approached Wickens to design, manufacture and install a cantilever racking system ready for the grand opening of the branch. Work began on the Horsham site last year. With the Covers team busy managing the development of the purpose-built facility, which includes a saw mill, warehouse, showroom and trade counter, they needed a racking supplier that could deliver a comprehensive turnkey solution. Wickens fully project managed the racking design and installation, including planning the initial layout and sign-off on site. In addition, Wickens installed some heavy duty pallet racking that Covers had purchased from overseas, managing the project smoothly and completing it on time. With a tight timeframe for manufacturing, delivering and installing the racking ready for the opening of the site there was no room for error. The site’s narrow entrance was closed to allow block paving to be laid and this coincided with installation of the racking, so it was essential that all the components were manufactured and delivered as planned.
