New Racking Solution Supports Expansion

Racking provider Wickens has completed a custom-made cantilever racking project for national distributors of decorative sheet materials and edgebanding, Inspired Surface, enabling it to open its new 29,000 square foot distribution centre in Milton Keynes. Wickens worked in partnership with Inspired Surfaces for nearly two years, helping the new business venture of Rex Bousfield, to assess potential distribution centre sites for its specialist laminate product range. Confidentiality was vital to the success of the relationship as various site options were explored. Wickens’ technical expertise in custom-made cantilever racking and its ability to complete a project in a short timescale were also key factors driving its appointment. Jonathan Pinder of Inspired Surfaces comments: “We needed to find a specialist racking provider that we could trust to work with us in confidence at a number of potential sites and then to design, build and install a bespoke racking solution when a suitable site for our new distribution hub had been identified. Wickens also needed to be able to complete the cantilever racking project in a short time scale to enable us to generate additional revenue as soon as possible. We are delighted with the work completed by Wickens and now consider them to be our racking provider of choice.”
